Lee Chase IV is a freelance writer who works 9-5 to pay the bills and watches and critiques movies to stay sane. He still has a tiny spark of confidence that one day someone will notice him for his sharp observations and offer to pay for his services.
Lee gained an interest for movies as a child when he saw The Neverending Story. At first, he thought he wanted to make movies, and after several cheesy attempts (classic titles like The Naked Fro and The Missing Book Made in England by Eli Lovelace, LV ½), decided this was not the best route to take. Since he had been writing short stories since the age of nine, Lee felt that maybe reviews were his calling, since he seemed to be better at evaluating movies than making them.
Lee has reviewed over 700 movies and seen at least three times that many. He likes movies that challenge him to think, but will not shy away when a silly comedy or action movie comes his way (Commando rules!). His favorites include Apocalypse Now, Rushmore, The Exorcist, The American Astronaut, and ‘70s and ‘80s horror movies. He hates any movie Robin Williams made during the ‘90s with the exception of Good Will Hunting, movies made by Roland Emmerich, and movies where an Everyman fights against the system.
Thus far, Lee’s reviews have appeared on Epinions.com, and he has an e-mail list with over 80 subscribers.
